The Maldives has achieved remarkable success at the World Travel Awards (WTA) Indian Ocean Category with two prestigious awards secured.

The prestigious titles that the Maldives secured are:

• Indian Ocean’s Leading Destination 2025 (also won in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, & 2024)
• Indian Ocean’s Leading Green Destination 2025 (also won in 2024)

The accolades were presented at the World Travel Awards Africa & Indian Ocean Gala Ceremony, held at the Johari Rotana Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on 28th June 2025. MMPRC’s CEO & MD Mr Ibrahim Shiuree joined the awarding ceremony to receive the awards.

Speaking on receiving these prestigious awards again this year, MMPRC’s CEO & MD Mr Ibrahim Shiuree stated “These accolades from the Maldives tourism industry are incredibly significant.
